AbstractSelective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) and serotonin norepinephrine re-uptake inhibitors (SNRIs) are used widely to treat mood and anxiety disorders. Indications, pharmacologic characteristics, and dosing and administration are outlined. Because more patients receive SSRIs in general medical versus psychiatric settings, this chapter includes information relevant to both.
